Terms of service

PatentFilm is a service of ipCapital Group, Inc. (“we”). By ordering you agree to these terms.

What you’re buying

A custom video explaining a published US patent or published patent application that you identify. Package contents, delivery estimates and revision rounds are described on the pricing page at the time you order. Delivery times are estimates and begin when we confirm your patent record.

Not legal advice

Films are educational and promotional explanations of public patent documents. They are not legal opinions about the scope, validity, enforceability, infringement or value of any patent, and we are not a law firm. We are not affiliated with the USPTO, and buying a film has no effect on any patent’s legal status or fees.

Your rights to the film

On full payment you receive a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive license to use, copy, publish and share the delivered film for any lawful personal or commercial purpose. We keep ownership of our underlying tools, templates, music and brand elements, and may keep the film to provide the service. We will only publish your film publicly if you opt in.

Your content

You confirm that you have the right to share anything you send us (notes, photos, logos), and you grant us the right to use it to make your film. Please don’t send confidential or unpublished invention details.

AI-generated material

Our studio uses AI tools. Cinematic-style footage is computer-generated and illustrative; it does not depict a real product test unless we say so. We review every film for accuracy against your patent before delivery.

Refunds

If, after the included revision rounds, we cannot deliver a film you’re proud to share, contact us within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. If we can’t produce your film for any reason, we refund you in full.
